.....more than just Piano Lessons!
I taught piano and theoretical subjects in Edmonton from 1995 - June 2004 both in my private studio and as Music School Director of Mill Woods Music Ltd. (2004 – 2014). I'm thrilled and excited to be teaching from my new home studio in Innisfree AB starting in September 2024 as well as with Friends of the Performing Arts (FOPA) in the Lloydminster Public Schools.
As a member of the Alberta Registered Music Teachers’ Association (ARMTA Edmonton Branch) I am as concerned about my own professional development as I am with the development of my student’s pianistic skills and overall musicianship. Whatever your reason for learning to play piano, you will learn to play well and develop numerous transferrable learning skills throughout our journey together.
My students have ranged in age from 4 - 72, playing purely for pleasure or following the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) curriculum. Several of my students have been awarded scholarships for high achievement from the Alberta Registered Music Teachers’ Association; some have also received awards from the Edmonton Music and Speech Arts Festival and Contemporary Showcase Edmonton for exceptional performances.
It’s important to me that students consider themselves to be part of a community of like-minded musicians, keen to do their very best at the piano and in life as well. Whether an absolute beginner or a student who has worked with me for as many as 14 years, those who enters the Music With Linda studio know they are entering a welcoming space where music is explored with enthusiasm and motivation for personal as well as musical enrichment.
Piano Lessons are private 30, 45 or 60-minute sessions offered on a term basis. Lessons are supplemented with musicianship workshops and performance opportunities in festivals and recitals.
Theory Instruction is offered privately and in classes for Royal Conservatory of Music Levels 5 – 10.
